This Michigan Skin Care Line Makes Winter Skin Feel (And Smell) Like Springtime

Leave it to Rustic MAKA to keep bringing us reasons to love midwestern winters (I know, the snow is lovely . . . but that cold, dry air ain’t the best). The ladies behind this metro Detroit-based, sister-owned business sent over some indulgences from their Luna Bliss line for me to try out, so I’m gonna tell you what I like about allll of it (and how you can get your hands on some free Luna Bliss treats of your own)!

I’ve been a Rustic MAKA fan for years, but this was my first time trying the EXFOLIATE body scrub. The Luna Bliss scent is very spring-like, kind of fruity-meets-floral, and makes me feel like I’m on a spa retreat. The ingredient list is even nicer, with organic cane sugar and chamomile-infused camellia oil working together to rid of dry, flaky skin while nourishing the healthy skin underneath.

I was delightfully surprised to find that after using this scrub, it sort of melts into your skin, moisturizing as it dissipates. This is a really nice alternative to other physical exfoliants that tend to leave granular remnants all over your sink or shower after you’re done washing up.

Rustic MAKA’s MOISTURIZE body cream is a magical concoction that literally feels like fresh butter. After trying and loving the “Takes Two To Mango” version last year, I’m happy to report that the “Luna Bliss” variation is just as heavenly (I’m watching it melt onto my dry, thirsty hands at this very moment). This natural, chamomile-infused cream goes a long way and is also great for treating rough elbows, heels, and other dry skin patches.

Natural deodorant is what first put Rustic MAKA on the map, and for good reason! These natural deodorants come in a variety of delicious scents and are way healthier for your body than most of the chemical-ridden antiperspirants that line the shelves at big box stores. This Luna Bliss activated charcoal and magnesium deodorant is also baking soda-free, so it’s perfect for anyone who has adverse reactions to deodorants that do contain baking soda.

Sidenote: Because I love the original Rustic MAKA deodorant recipe, I was a little iffy of whether this one (without baking soda) would work for me. Upon applying, I noticed it glided on really smoothly—which can be an issue if the deodorant wipes off easily—but lo and behold, this one works just as well as the original!
