Over two and a half years later, and we’ve come full circle, my friends: Fiddler on the Roof has made its way BACK to Detroit! This was the last show that played at Broadway in Detroit back in March 2020 (before the final few days of performances were canceled), and I’m thrilled that this production will finally have the full run it deserves.

Want to know more about this Tony Award-nominated revival? I’ve got the scoop below, so let’s get into it!

Filled with classic Broadway hits such as “If I Were A Rich Man,” Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” and “Tradition,” Fiddler on the Roof brings us the story of fathers and daughters, husbands and wives, and life, love, and laughter. The original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof opened in 1964 at Detroit’s Fisher Theatre (the same venue where it’s playing now!), and in addition to winning nine Tony Awards (including Best Musical), was the first musical in history to surpass 3,000 performances.

Fiddler on the Roof features musical supervision by Tony Award-winner Ted Sperling, scenic design by Tony Award-winner Michael Yeargan, costume design by Tony Award-winner Catherine Zuber, lighting design by Tony Award-winner Donald Holder, sound design by Tony Award-winner Scott Lehrer and Alex Neumann, and hair and wig design by Tom Watson.
